The off-screen buddies are inseparable, especially when it comes to collaborating on films scripted by the former
After the superhit Beautiful, the upcoming Trivandrum Lodge and the D Company featurette, the latest flick that will have both Anoop Menon and Jayasurya in the lead is director Rajeev Nath's David and Goliath.
Ask Anoop about the 'lucky' combination, and he quips, "It's just that whenever I think of a script, it inadvertently ends up having a character that Jayasurya could play. Also, being good friends, he's the first person to whom I bounce off the story. And right after hearing it, there is always one character that we both agree that he would be the best person to essay. There's nothing we can do about that."
Incidentally, Anoop, who made his debut as a scriptwriter for Rajeev's Pakal Nakshatrangal, informs us that this film would be the director's first all-out commercial one.
The duo was earlier set to shoot a romantic film Oru New York Sayahnam, that has now been postponed to April next year.
David and Goliath will start rolling in September, as soon as the duo finish filming the D Company featurette. Anoop says, "It's a racy humorous-thriller about two contemporary men — one who's infinitely powerful and another who's basically powerless."
The actor-scriptwriter says he doesn't want to reveal who plays which character as that forms the crux of the story. The team is also looking at roping in actor Asif Ali and the latest popular actress on the scene — Nazriya Nazim.
