A R Rahman in a cameo?

Actor Biju Menon is turning co-producer for director Shajoon Kariyal's new tale of five friends. While the actor plays a percussionist from A R Rahman's troupe in the film, sources say the team is hoping to rope in the music maestro for a cameo too.

"It's too early to talk about that because as of now, we do intend to do something of that sort. We are trying to sign him up for a cameo," informs Sachi, the scriptwriter for the film.

Incidentally, the music director for the film is Deepak Dev, who has worked with Rahman on projects like Rhythm and Thenali.

"The story is about five friends, played by Biju Menon, Lal, Suresh Krishna, P Sukumar and Sunil Babu. It is a full-fledged comedy, though, it cannot be considered slapstick," says Shajoon. The entire story is said to be about an incident that spans over two days. "Biju's wife, in the film, plays an important role here. The ruckus she creates on New Year's Eve forms the basic plot," explains Sachi.
